We had the pleasure of producing a series of videos for Gunn & Moore (GM), the renowned cricket bat manufacturer based in Nottingham. Filmed over a single day, the series featured the Managing Director alongside former England player Graeme Swann (Swanny), offering a rare insight into the craftsmanship behind their world-class bats.
From the careful selection of willow to the meticulous shaping and finishing process, the videos highlighted the exceptional quality and attention to detail that Gunn & Moore apply to every bat they produce, whether it's destined for a professional cricketer or a dedicated club player.
Since Gunn & Moore didn’t yet have a YouTube channel, we hosted the draft videos privately on our own channel while awaiting their final approval.
After a couple of weeks without hearing back, we logged in to check on things, only to find that the videos had accumulated an unexpectedly huge number of views.
For a brief moment, we assumed the approval process must be extremely thorough. In reality, Gunn & Moore had enthusiastically shared the 'unlisted' link directly on their website, and the videos had taken off, gathering attention and engagement far beyond what any of us imagined.
It’s a story we still laugh about today, but it also demonstrates the power of well-crafted content and the impact it can have when audiences connect with it.
Gunn & Moore were so pleased with the results that they invited us to work with them again, this time through their wider parent company, Unicorn Group.
As a result, we were commissioned to film their past and present sponsored darts players with a series of candid interviews and some friendly matchplay.
Following that and working with Barry Hearn and tournament sponsors Ladbrokes, we captured content of the PDC World Championships at Alexandra Palace, incorporating interviews, live action and dynamic behind the scenes material that showcased both the players and the excitement of the event.
